As the academic year reaches an end, on behalf of our central team and our Trainees, we would like to say a huge thank you to the schools who have worked with us this year in being placements, mentors and fantastic teaching models for our Trainees to learn from and reflect upon. The community we create amongst our professionals is something that we will always remain extremely proud of. In this week’s blog post, our Trainees share their thanks to those who have supported them in their placements and subject knowledge sessions.

I loved both of my placement schools! Both are amazing schools and I wish I could go back to both of them! My host teachers were both absolutely fantastic and I will definitely keep in touch with them in the future.

I have loved meeting and learning from other members of staff, and I have loved staffroom chats!

I loved the amount of support I received as a trainee from different people. The induction was extremely thorough and really put my mind at rest about any questions I had, but prepared me and made me feel confident when starting my first placement. The staff, both at GORSE and in my placement schools helped me develop different aspects of being a teacher.

I loved being welcomed into both my placement schools with such respect and finding my “inner-teacher”.

The SCITT leaders are among the most professional, kind, supportive and amusing I have ever had the pleasure to meet. It has been an absolute pleasure!

I loved how welcoming and supportive our hosts schools made us feel and how we felt like staff from day one.

I am privileged to have become part of the teaching community.

The quality of training at GORSE SCITT was superb and the team immensely supportive at all times. The course facilitators and the invited speakers to our training sessions were incredible, the Professional Tutor sessions were informative and useful and the training programmes and my school placements of the highest quality.

I loved the comradery amongst trainees, support received from Gorse HQ and building fantastic working relationships with staff members at placement schools and the young people that they serve. Thank you for a brilliant year.
