GORSE SCITT is different!
As one of a small number of Outstanding teacher training providers nationally our central aim is to train exceptional teachers to change the deal for our most disadvantaged young people. GORSE SCITT has trained over 2000 trainee teachers across both Primary and Secondary phases, over the last twelve years. We offer the opportunity to train in locations across Leeds, Bradford, Hull and East Yorkshire.
Our core responsibility is to provide trainees with the best possible start to their career. Using the latest in educational research to underpin our ambitious curriculum, aspiring teachers will be guided to successfully enable them to put pedagogical theory into practice in the classroom.
Our Vision
Working in partnership with the Leeds Teaching School Hub, GORSE SCITT will ensure that from the very first point of entering the profession, trainees are given the highest quality training opportunities. We will shape committed and passionate individuals into responsive, inspirational and highly skilled teachers. Led by experienced practitioners within their own fields, we believe that great teachers have the ability to collectively engender social change. With our Outstanding ITT provision, we will improve teacher quality and, in turn, student outcomes across the region.
