Teachers of Business Studies hold a unique position in that, with creative pedagogy, every lesson of the curriculum could support whole school strategies such as: literacy, mathematics, social, moral and cultural issues and careers. For a young person to embark upon the study of business is to open a door to a world of ideas, creativity and inspiration. With so many opportunities to create exciting and engaging lessons, it is important that Business Studies trainees become specialists in the curriculum and the rubric of assessment.
Trainees are encouraged to consider how each lesson they teach will build the knowledge and skills necessary for a student’s academic success. As this is understood, practised and mastered by trainees they will then start to identify how they can integrate issues outside of the business curriculum into their lessons. This allows our trainees the opportunity to help their students in not only their academic endeavours but in preparation for life outside of school.
