This month, our lead mentor observations have been in full swing, with the team visiting trainees in placements across Leeds, Bradford and Hull to see the wonderful progress being made.

As we enter the embedding stage of the curriculum, our trainees have been focusing on adapting their practice to meet the needs of all learners. They have received training on EAL, collaborative learning strategies and this week, we launched our next Intensive Training and Practice session focusing on oracy.

At GORSE SCITT, trainees receive two hours of subject training per week with a key leader from across the GORSE Academy Trust. This month, our music trainees were lucky enough to visit Hillcrest Primary to take part in a drumming workshop, enhancing their knowledge and experience while reflecting on how this can influence their own practice – a fantastic opportunity.

Our MFL trainees have also been visiting and teaching in local primary schools to explore how languages are taught across KS1 and 2, and the feedback has been fantastic. We look forward to sharing updates on more exciting visits in the near future.

Interviews have also been in full swing, with many successful candidates receiving successful offers to join us in September! We are looking forward to welcoming them in the coming months.
