Mental Health Awareness Week – 15th May – 19th May 2023

Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual event organised and hosted by The Mental Health Foundation. This year, Mental Health Awareness Week runs from Monday 15th May to Sunday 21st May 2023 and will explore anxiety, how it affects our mental health and what we can do to manage and support those around us.

We’ve chosen anxiety as the Mental Health Awareness Week theme this year to kickstart a nationwide conversation, encouraging people to share their own experiences and any helpful ideas on how they manage anxiety,
Alexa Knight, Director of England at the Mental Health Foundation.

Here at GORSE SCITT, we pride ourselves on the exceptional support we offer our trainees, constantly striving to understand the issues our trainees face and working hard to ensure we are equipped to support them through what is a rewarding but intense ITT year. This year we are getting involved with Mental Health Awareness week by sharing resources, stories, and time to explore this years’ theme of anxiety. Some of the team will also be getting involved with Wear it Green day on Thursday 18th May (photos to follow!).

The Mental Health Foundation is asking the public to contribute their stories on social media with the hashtag #ToHelpMyAnxiety and #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Let’s start the conversation!
