As our trainees continue to settle into their teaching roles, our Link Tutor team have been visiting schools to observe their lessons and witness the impressive progress they have made. We are thrilled with their development, and it is fantastic to see them fully embracing school life—joining reward trips, supporting extracurricular activities and developing through staff training days.

It has been a busy time with interviews at our training base in Leeds City Centre, where many candidates have been successful in securing a place in our 2025-2026 cohort. We are looking forward to many more interviews in the coming weeks! We also had the privilege of attending the ‘Get into Teaching’ event at the First Direct Arena, which was a huge success and wonderful to meet lots of people considering a career in teaching.

November marked the beginning of our Intensive Training and Practice days, with a focus on questioning techniques. Trainees explored key research to understand the foundations of effective questioning. They then had the chance to observe this in action before applying this to their own lessons. Additionally, our trainees were fortunate to participate in a full day of training with Tom Bennett on behaviour and classroom management which trainees found incredibly valuable, with one saying:

“It was fantastic and really inspirational to hear first-hand from someone whose educational ethos had such a positive influence on my decision to become a teacher.”

As we approach the final month of the first placement, we’re grateful for the wonderful feedback from our placement schools and appreciate our strong partnership and support from our mentors.
