Across our Leeds and Bradford hubs, we have both primary and secondary ITT courses
of on offer. Our Hull and East Yorkshire hub offers secondary courses in a wide variety
of subjects. Our courses are made up of different components: Central and subject
specific training sessions, University of Sunderland PGCE sessions and placements
in school settings.
Qualified Teacher Status
Your whole experience and learning with us is structured to ensure that you will gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The ongoing assessment for this is based around the Teacher Standards. Trainees will need to demonstrate that they meet the following standards:
Post Graduate Certificate of Education
The programme leads to a full Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), we offer this as we know the PGCE is regarded as the gold standard of teacher training. Interwoven through our QTS programme are opportunities to complete two Masters Level assignments in order to secure the PGCE. The masters levels assignments are delivered by the University of Sunderland in our training spaces in Leeds or via online learning platforms. You will not be required to travel to Sunderland. Excellent online support is offered by university tutors.
Unparalleled Experience
Throughout your year with us we will ensure, regardless of the age range you specialise in, that you have time with primary, secondary and Post-16 students. We will also ensure that you experience time with children with special educational needs (SEND), English as an additional language (EAL) and those children for whom the conventional education system has not worked (Alternative Provision).
