All GORSE SCITT trainees will have the fantastic opportunity to take a Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) programme with us and our partner VIDLEARN. This will enable an early and productive engagement with our programme.
These courses are completed online and range from 8 to 28 weeks in length. Upon beginning the SKE, you will be put in touch with a Subject Lead who will give you guidance to help you complete the programme.
You will need to be able to commit 25 hours a week to the course, but this can be completed at your convenience around other commitments.
All of the SKE courses are funded by the National College for Teaching and Learning.
An SKE attracts a tax free training bursary of £800 per month for the trainee.
What subjects is this available for?
All courses are based on the latest Department for Education specifications and are comprised of core modules and optional modules.
The shorter 8 week programme covers GCSE level, and the longer 28 week programme covers GCSE and A-Level.
You will need to complete the SKE by the time you start on our programme in September.
During the interview and selection process, we will speak to you about these programmes. Taking part in the SKE allows you to access excellent subject specific training materials before your training, during your training year and in your NQT year.
