Welcome to a new year at GORSE SCITT and what a start we have had! In September, we welcomed this year’s trainees to our stunning new building on Albion Street in Leeds City Centre. The induction programme featured a variety of sessions, including safeguarding, adaptive practice, lesson planning and review, and preparation for their upcoming placements. We also delivered our first Intensive Training and Practice Days of the year focusing on Behaviour Management. Trainees had the opportunity to visit partner schools, observing lessons and reflecting on the theory in action.

September marked the beginning of the first placement for our trainees, and they have truly made an impressive start! Positioned in schools across Leeds, Bradford, Hull, and East Yorkshire, they have made a remarkable first impression with school leaders. After a week of observation, trainees began gaining first hand experience by planning and delivering starter tasks as they work towards teaching full lessons. We are incredibly proud of the fantastic start our whole cohort has made and look forward to watching their progress throughout the year.
