Applications for September 2022 are now open!
We have outlined the steps involved in the application process below, including the stages we work through during an interview. The GORSE SCITT team will be available to help at every stage and answer any questions you may have.
Browse the courses that we have available and check the entry requirements. Upon successful application, you might be eligible to take a Subject Knowledge Enhancement Course (SKE) to develop your subject knowledge prior to embarking upon your ITT course. You can find out more about GORSE SCITT’s Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses here.
Once you have decided upon a Post Graduate ITT course, apply by clicking here: Apply for teacher training – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). You can find our unique course codes on our primary and secondary subject pages.
Complete the application form and submit it. If at any point during any of your application process you require further assistance, please contact our team. Once we have received your application, we aim to respond to you within two working days.

You will deliver a 5-minute presentation, without the use of technology, to a group of pupils explaining why you want to be a teacher: make this engaging around your subject and/or phase and leave time for questions.
You will join a lesson with a fully qualified teacher, usually in your subject area or key stage preference, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the students. There will be a formal interview with senior leaders from the SCITT and partner school. This is an opportunity for you to share with us why you want to be a teacher of your subject or phase.
You will also complete various written tasks assessing your subject knowledge, numeracy and literacy skills and your attitudes towards education including the safeguarding of children.
